WTK 221 brass

I have about 250 rounds of "Whisper" brass made from .221 cases. I also have about 1k of "Whisper" brass made from LC 223. All has been once fired.

Being the the cases are slightly different what are the odds they would shoot the same? Can I mix and match these cases and still be accurate.

If not I think I will get rid of the .221 brass. Any idea what this is worth?

I'm no expert on the whisper ,however have been reloading for 25 years.I can say this : Lake City brass has a thicker ,stronger case head than a fireball. As a result it has less interior volume,but will withstand hotter loading better than fireball brass. So IMO you won't notice much difference with the tamer loads. On the hot stuff the lake city will hold together.The 221 I've had to break the contender open over my knee and pull the brass out with a pair of pliers.

What are you shooting it in?

If a T/C, you're likely fine using the LC as T/C has classivly oversize chambers. As long as you are sure your load is safe for the gun and that the neck is not too tight in the chamber, you should be good to go.

Most people say nay on the .223 brass being used for the 300 Whisper but a lot of people do it. If it is an AR you are sending this brass through, I have been told with MUCH conviction, you really need to use the 221 brass.

I have a 300 Whisper Rimmed chamber in my T/C and that brass was made from a 357 Rem Maximum parent. My friend shoots the 300W in his T/C and has only used 221 and 204 brass due to the thinner case walls.

I use 223 brass in an AR with zero problems. I would not mix brass. I check the necks from batch to batch and never had one out of spec yet.

Why don't you just pack the fireball brass away for a rainy day if you have so much LC brass converted?
