Low profile gas block

Can a standard gas block be converted to adjustable? If so, has anyone on here tried to convert one?

If there is enough meat for a set screw, if its a .750" barrel, the hole goes .500" up from the center of the barrel and on center with the gas port hole(between .295 and .315 usually). Tap it 6-32 for a set screw, go just a hair past center.

I've built a number of gas blocks this way, never modified an existing one
