Question on .300 AR upper

I'd like to get an AR-15 upper in .300 Whisper for night hunting of Hogs in E. Texas

My goal is to use subsonic rounds at night using an adjustable gas block to turn the gas off so I can make it extra quiet. max distance would be 75 yards

Day use would be supersonic. max distance 150 yards

Preferably a short barrel, preferably around 9 inches so that it's not too long with a suppressor

How effective would this setup be and where would I get the parts?

I know I will need to get tax stamps for the lower (SBR) and the suppressor, If possible I'd prefer to make my own suppressor, I have a lathe, any idea if the .300 whisper suppressors use the standard K baffles like a 5.56 suppressor?
