Thanks for the review Brian!
I am slowly working towards that goal myself but to become a gunsmith requires tools and skill. Over the past couple years I have worked to expand my skill and I have bought a whole bunch of tools from small items to some really big stuff (Say Gunsmith specific screwdrivers to a Bridegport Milling Machine).
I am goint to get my FFL to allow me to go gunsmithing work first but as I have read the BATFE requires that you have at least some hours during normal M-F business hours. My curent work arangement does not afford me that option so I have not been able to move forward with this at this time.
I have a ton of stuff I want to learn and while I am very comfortable with the AR-15, UZI and FAL when it comes to AKs I am not real confident yet... and when it comes to rebareling something like a bolt gun or even building my 1919a4 or Semiauto Bren I am downright ignorant.
Perhaps I am trying to do this for the wrong reason as I know lots of gunsmits that don't make a whole lot of money but I would love to give up my day job one of these years so that I could spend more time learning and working with something I really love. Oh well, some day I will get there I just can't give up the crazy job that I spent the last many years of my life working to get....
