My 2nd Can

Hi all,

I currently have a can from Sound Technology in .22lr. I was thinking about another one day soon but was a little discouraged by the performance of some normally supersonic centerfire loads when made subsonic (although I must admit I've only read things in passing).

Then I decided to customize a Savage/Stevens short action rifle. It's currently in .223 (or will be when I get it in a couple of weeks) and while researching the different choices, I came across .300 whisper.

So, I guess my questions are:

1) Does anyone make a barrel for the Savage that will work for this round?

2) What barrel length and twist are recommended?

3) Where can I get a can for it?

Thanks,

Paul

Here's my Biathlon Basic with the can and Vortex Viper 3-9x40 BDC. It's as close a copy as can be had of the Russian SV-99.

And with a previous scope that didn't fit well, Super Sniper 10x:

Should not be much of a problem for most builders- there are several members here that might do- contact member spook as he does a lot of work.

1/8 is most common.

since you already have the 22 can just use the same dealer. If thats not an option find a local class 3 dealer and pick which one you want.

I have an SAS can waiting on a Form 4 to clear. Everything I have heard about the company is top notch. Tim (owner of SAS) is a one man operation and can be a little difficult to reach at times .. but he will take care of you!

I've had trouble getting in touch with Mark at Sound Technology. I heard he moved back to Alaska. I'll get in touch with Mr. Spook.
