Rather than ruining two shell extractors to make one, I bet you could machine down a 7.62x51 or 7.62x39 shell extractor on the back end to .223 case head size. Your bolt wouldn't close because of the extra length, but it could still grab the broke piece and get it out. I have an shell extractor in the grip or stock every semi and full auto I own, except the Whisper. I would never worry about subs blowing a case, but some of my TNT loads sure could. Thanks for making me worry about that potential problem. I sure cursed when it happened to my full auto FAL and I didn't have an extractor and I was 4 hours from home.
