Ok, I tried hammering the grip off and its a no-go. My new problem is that rust forms on this thing faster than I can wipe it off. The finish looks fairly decent, but its obviously not parkerizing...

I appreciate the help. I removed the pomel before and thats where I got kinda stuck. The grip doesnt seem to want to come off. maybe some (heavier)light persuasion is whats in order.
