Nice looking cannon :)
I make Whisper brass here in NZ - give me a shout if you need any or need your own brass processing. Will have some expanding projectiles made soon also |
Cheers Spanners. At this point I am after some loaded ammo.
|
what weight projectile?
|
Subsonic. 240smk or 208 amax?
|
I might be loading some 208 amax soon
|
Good evening, guys,
very nice rig xmanNZ. you might consider using a 20 moa base on your savage if you want to reach 200m. for the 208 amax, 8.5gr of vita n110 provide 1040fps in my 16" barrel. but they are not the best flying rounds if seated too far from the beginning of rifling. try 240 gr match king other wise. there is a box available at hunting and fishing Hamilton on Te rapa. 9.1gr of vita n110 for that one. good luck. Show us how well Mr Hardy's rifle shoots. ND |
Id like to see a video and hear that thing..... Im looking for a savage action myself right now.:nanabang:

That is some nice setup!! Can you get it to eject? Had to change mine to a single shot and get the brass off of the follower. A new extractor will only last 40 rounds or so.
|
Who did your barrel and how much $?

did you just change the extractor, or try a larger detent ball as well? |
Changed them both out with parts from SSS. Did not even get to 40 rounds with the last set. 2 of 3 now dropping on the follower. Extendet the ejector - nada. Will never make another wtf on a savage action again.

have you thought about changing bolt heads? |
Update: Called SSS and ordered his new button head ejector and spring. IT WORKS!!!! Took the single shot follower out and now have a reliable repeater again. It was worth every penny.....
|
Looks good. Should reek havok with the hogs.
