Watch those Agulia SSS when using suppressor. I shot some a while ago in my hvy bbl savage and thought thery were "neat",,,, at 50 yards i could see the bullet in flight aginst a white target.
Tried some for accuracy in my 16" bbl cz with a can and all 5 of the bullets tumbled at the 25 yard target. I feel lucky not to have a baffle strike.

I was getting 1" groups with the SSS and 3/8" to 5/8" with regular subsonic and supersonic ammo. Temps were about 90 degrees at 1100' altitude. Here is my chrono results:

Bt Wt Ammo Bt Type Vel SD NOTES
40 AGUILA RNL 1030 20 AGUILA SE (STANDARD VELOCITY)
60 AGUILA RNL 894 17 AGUILA SSS
40 CCI RNL 1010 20 CCI STANDARD VELOCITY (SV)
40 CCI HPL 1045 35 CCI SUBSONIC HP. BOLT CLOSES TIGHT
40 RUSSIAN RNL 975 21 RUSSIAN SNIPER
40 WIN TCHPL 1007 4 WINCHESTER SUBSONIC TCHP
42 WIN TCL 1136 7 WINCHESTER SUPER SILHOUTTE
40 WIN RNL 1192 7 WINCHESTER T22

I was expecting the SSS ammo to be a bit closer to 1000 fps. The light was right and I could watch the bullets fly to the target from about 50 yards on out to 100 yards. I also shot some out to 200 yards and saw a couple loose stability around 150 yards

Good information. I'll try some of the Winchester truncated hollow points. The SD is impressive. Subsonics are particularly sensitive to velocity variations causing vertical stringing.

Memory not as good as it use to be. Either read it somewhere or made it up, where Lilja made a barrel to see how long it would have to be to stop the bullet inside. High 40"s for standard lr ammo. Faster twist barrels are not cheap...

I'd expect the length of barrel where the bullet would lodge in the bore to be highly dependent on the lubricant used and the bullet alloy. Certainly using long barrels isn't good for shot to shot velocity consistency.

Things which aren't mass produced are usually more expensive. AR-15 barrels with a 9" standard twist are cheaper than 16" twist custom barrels. Just the opposite of 22LR barrels.

I forgot to post my results of shooting the long barrel CZ452 with the 60 Grain SSS's. They are no quieter than regular 40 grain subsonic rounds in my rifle. They are less accurate also. I'll just stick to the regular loads.
