I'm trying to get an idea of the value of my Buck 184. I believe I bought it in 1984. It doesn't have the built in compass, and I've lost the original Silva compass that came with it. Only a few very faint scratches on the blade. It has been used, so it's not in new condition, but I would say it's in very good condition. It came with one pouch, and the sheath is also in good condition. The sharpening stone has not been used. It is a Pre-Patent knife. The blade is stamped BUCK 184 MADE IN USA. The knife is complete other than the compass. Any info you can provide on determining a value on this knife would be greatly appreciated.

Do a completed item search on ebay. ebay probably has a dozen of these running at any given time.

As Bill said ebay brings top prices for these knives and if you were lucky and smart enough to keep the box and papers as well it can really bring a goog price. To put a value on these is really hard as I have seen some sell for as low as $120 while a fight may come about for an almost identical knife and it will sell for $250.
I assume you have seen my other project:
