300 Whisper / 300 fireball brass for sale!!!!

Is my gun a 300 whisper or NOT ????

This is my standard cut and paste answer, for I get many requests for information daily about the 300 whisper/300 fireball/ 300-221 brass I have. I have 300 fireball/300-221 brass that is made from .223 brass. Note that I call it 300 fireball/300-221 and not 300 whisper this is based on the fact that the 300 whisper and 300 fireball/300-221 are different the necks on the 300 whisper are very tight. JD Jones (SSK Inc.) took the 221 fireball and necked it up to .308 and based his reamers on just that a .221 neck opened to .308 which makes for a very thin neck. JD Jones registered 300 whisper as a trade mark thus others having to call it by other names (Olympic Arms call it 300 fireball, Redding Dies calls it 300-221, Clymer reamers calls it 30-221 etc…) Once other companies started looking at making guns, dies, ammo, barrels etc.. No information was out there to base their products on, given that the 300 whisper is a wildcat. With no blue prints the assumption was made and the .221 fireball was given a standard .308 neck which made it thicker than a true SSK Inc. 300 whisper. We are only talking about a few thousands of an inch here but that’s all it takes to give you cambering problems. It has been my experience that the brass made from .223 brass is not only more economical but lasts longer with subsonic loads I have gotten as many as seven reloads.
Do i have a 300 whisper or not? Good question. Unless you have a gun from SSK Inc. than you don’t have a 300 whisper but a 300 fireball. But understand you can shoot 300 whisper ammo in your gun, you can’t shoot 300 fireball ammo in a 300 whisper gun, again for that the neck is thinner in a 300 whisper. JD Jones (SSK Inc.) has had no contact with any companies other than Hornady and RCBS to make dies and Corbon Ammo Inc. to load ammo. So with this if you have a gun/barrel that was made by Model 1 Sales, Olympic Arms, AR15barrels.com, Double Star, Hesse Guns or a custom gun with its chamber cut with Clymer, PTG, Dave Mason reamers than you have a 300 fireball and not a true 300 whisper.
Little history on Corbon Inc. 300 whisper ammo and the Brass SSK Inc used to carry: At some point New River Valley Ordnance produced brass under contact with JD Jones from military surplus 5.56 brass (Remington .223) by trimming and roll sizing the neck area. SSK Inc sold this brass and Corbon Inc. under an agreement with JD Jones loaded and sold 300 whisper ammo. Year or two ago the owner of New River Valley Ordnance died and with that they no longer produce 300 whisper brass. This is why the Corbon 300 whisper ammo has dried up.
I fell in love with the 300 whisper years ago. My love of shooting forced me to find an less expensive source of brass and ammo (20rds of Corbon like 23.00 @#$%%$#@). Being in the military at the time .223 brass was readily available and being the parent case for the .221 fireball, which is the parent case for the 300 whisper. I set up a die to trim .223 brass down to 300 whisper. I was off and going with my new found source of cheap brass. At first I was trading my brass for bullets, primers etc to others who as i had fell in love with the whisper. I now have a machine setup that trims, sizes, de-caps, swages and primes .223 brass into 300 fireball at a rate of about 2000 an hour. I sell a few thousand from time to time to fund my next toy. I don’t advertise anymore but rely on the internet and word of mouth. To be honest I feel if I was to advertise I wouldn’t be able to keep up with demand. Again I do this part time to feed my shooting habit. At the moment I’m shipping about 10,000 a month. Understand I don’t sale to those who have a SSK Inc. guns, of all the brass I have shipped these are the only gun I have ever had any trouble with. I know you ask why don’t I roll size the neck to shoot in all guns. First reason was a roll sizing machine is close to 15,000 dollars and with that SSK Inc. only make up less than 10% of my sales or people wanting brass. I have seen guys with SSK Inc guns have a gunsmith run a 300 fireball reamer into the chamber and open it up to 300 fireball. I would only do this if you shoot a lot or full auto. Last time I checked SSK Inc. 300 whisper brass was about 250.00 a 1000. And you will get one maybe to two reloads based on it being necked up .221 fireball brass. Also if you find some .221 fireball brass and neck it up yourself you will experience about a 15% failure with the necks.
So with all this said and done. I have once fired .223 brass that has been sized, trimed, de-caped, swaged if needed and polished to a high luster. I trim to true 300 whisper length of 1.35 to function is all guns. I can prime it for you to ( I use Winchester primers but can use anyone’s you want). With it primed all you have to do is add powder and seat a bullet, doing this for you single stage press guys out there, I have been there. I shoot this in my bolt, single shot, semi and full auto guns (Form-4) and it functions great. I use once fired commercial brass from a large police dept. At the moment I have federal brass that does have a crimped primer pocket but I do swage it all before shipping. After this last 50,000 rounds of federal I will be going to LC Military. With the many different configurations of guns out there please feel free to request a free sample. I do this often my way of ensuring you’re happy. Need a special trim length no problem, I have trimmed it as short as 1.2 for a guy to make 9mm blanks to as long as 1.41 for a special cut camber. I take money orders, checks or paypal (paypal address: keith__davis@yahoo.com) Also if you worried about availability, I’m an unlimited source. I have been making this for years and see no limit in sight, have about 50,000 rounds of brass on hand at any given time. Most orders are shipped within 24hrs however. I only do this part time so with that, large orders will be shipped on the following Monday for I will need the weekend to work on it. As to date I have had my brass fired in Model 1 Sales, Double Star, Olympic Arms, Hesse Guns, AR15Barrels.com, Thompson & Centers Contender and Encore, and custom guns made with Clymer, PTG, Dave Mason reamers with no troubles. Have shipped over 350,000 round with only three returns SSK Inc guns but in the end they were happy. Most of my brass goes to repeat customers. Have mailed a lot to the police and the military as well. Thanks for your time.
