Angry Assault Weapons Ban coming back

The attempt to renew and augment the expired federal "assault weapons ban", HR 1022, will not be tolerated.

This is NOT the cosmetic bill from the Clinton era and does NOT include a sunset expiration, this one DOES ban many more guns, not just features, going so far as to ban WWII era rifles such as the M1 Garand and semi-automatic shotguns. Do your homework, learn about the details and contact your representative, act locally, raise awareness.

over 40,800 have already signed the petition to stop it

you should too

From http://thomas.loc.gov/:

Quote:
H.R.1022
Title: To reauthorize the assault weapons ban, and for other purposes.
Sponsor: Rep McCarthy, Carolyn [NY-4] (introduced 2/13/2007) Cosponsors (67)
Latest Major Action: 3/19/2007 Referred to House subcommittee. Status: Referred to the Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, and Homeland Security.
Does that mean the bill is dead?

With the economy the way it is, and as unhappy as the people are with congress for bailing out the banks, I heard that congess will not even talk about bringing back the assault rifle ban.
