Pictures of Another Buck 184 Sightly Different.

Pictured is another (early or late Buck 184?) pre-patent pending. The bottom small pouch has the Silva Compass with the red string, the top pouch has the two spikes. Noter the snap button on the top pouch and the longer belt strap (back strap). Blade is marked Buck 184 USA (no pat. Pend.).

Thanks for sharing more great pics...

On the pouch with the snap, is there velcro inside it or evidence there was velcro? I saw a knife with a pouch like this once and I assumed someone had added the snap.

I don't remember for sure but I think that pouch did not have velcro but it has been a long time....

Buck 184 Pouch with snap.

Yes, the pouch does have velcro. It is similar to the buck m9 pouches, just shorter. PanCanal

You know, I've seen several pouches with the snaps. All the ones I've seen have snaps that match the factory ones on the sheath perfectly, so you'd have to think that for whatever reason some came from Buck like this. I've always wondered what the story was...
