Smithy Mills

Am considering purchasing a mill and am considering the Smithy cx-329.
In the $2000 range after deivery costs. Any thoughts or opinions about this product or other better in the price range? plan to use for gunsmithing work, so don't expect heavy commercial demands on it.

It is a nice looking lathe not a mill. Is that what you meant?

According to the catalog and quote I received from Smithy, the CX-329 is in fact a mill. It is the non-power feed version of the LX-329 and is replacing their previous model, CX-288.

Guess it is not listed on line where I looked. If it too is a round column mill, I would rather have a dove tail column. It is less likely to be as inaccurate. YOu migth want ot look at something like the Sieg x2 or x3. There are a lot of places that sell them.

I finally found a CX-329 at Americanmachinetools.com. It looks fine if you want to pay the price.

Well, I also found info on the Zieg X3. think it has plenty of horsepower and precision for anything I'd want to do. Looks like a better option for value. Thanks for the direction. Do yo know where the Zieg is mfgrd?
