Found you on AR15.com, and I was interested in learning from another source. Not knocking AR15 - great forum, but learning from as many folks with similar interests is always a priority.
I work with inner city kids. John Steinbeck said, "Man (and woman) are the only varmint that sets their own traps and then steps in them." There is a lot to be said of the meaning of those words. I try to pass that on to many that really have self defeating problems, but it remains true for all.
That said, my passions are firearms and knifemaking. Lost my shop to the great Mississippi flooding. Hurt, but they are only possessions.
I have tons of stuff from shooting, blade making and survival work. I use survival work to help kids that have had to survive on the streets. It works if you follow up closely and get them out of the mode of thinking they have learned. Not an easy thing.
I shoot as much as I can. Ammo is expensive. I miss making knives.
I decided (one day) to find out what made a good knife. Then I found out how much they cost. Decided I would learn to make them instead of buying them.
Please say hey, as I am currently out of action because of a head on collision with a drunk dirver. What a time life can be! Rollacosters and a flat rail road now and then. Good Lord is always there!
