Question 3 in 1 Advice

I need to replace my drill press and was considering getting one of those 3 in 1 mill/drill/lathe machines. Maybe a Smithy or one from Harbor Freight... Any thoughts on these? I've been thinking of picking up a mill anyway, and the lathe would be a bonus. Are these worth it or should I get a seperate drill press and mill?

Thanks

I have never owned a 3 in 1 so my advice is all second hand. Most so called knowldgable people say get seperate but I guess it depends on your purpose and space available. My brother in law's dad had a smithy and he loved it. He did many wonderful things with it.
