240 outlaw works like a charm

Shot my 1st one w/the whisper yesterday evening. Little buck 125lb-ish 4 point. 240 outlaw and 10gr VVN110. Bout a 20yd shot, he ran maybe 50yd and fell right next to the 4wheeler trail. Quaeter size exit wound. I'll take it.

I hit him just behind the right sholder at an angle so it came out about the 2nd to last rib on the left. Im shootin an AR, AAC7.62SD, 7in bbl, gas port is an inch and a half closer to the chamber than pistol. It cycles but I am having feeding probs, I think I may have taken care of it w/ a little file work on the mag, Pmags run all my other loads fine(150fmj,180speer,220seria pro hunter) but I think the taper in the front of them is too much for those big ass outlaws so I opened it up a lil bit. feels alot better running rounds by hand but I wont know till shoot agine. Maybe I'll see 1 in the mornin.

sgms18,
You may want to touch up the barrel extention a little, with a dremel or a small diamond file set. I took a little off the center lower lug so it had more of a ramp shape. I also put a slight angle on the outsides of the actual feed ramps, that kind of guides them in rather than hanging up. Finally I added feed ramp extentions into the upper, like an m-4 feed ramp, my upper did not have them. With that little touch up I use 20 and 30 round GI mags and have not had any issues with the 240gr OUTLAW failing to feed.

Not yet but I hear its the cat's ass. I will be using it this year. Word on the street is that the 220gr Outlaw drops them in their tracks with heart shots.
