Looks good!

Was the logo of the Bayonet Collectors Network applied by Lan-Cay or by someone else?

Kind regards,
Menno

The logo was applied by LanCAy for the BCN for their 10th anniversary. there should be a logo'd pouch as well, gogo www.old-smithy.info and look at my M9 page for my example which shows the blade much better as well as th epouch etc. only 75 were made adn the tooling destroyed, it was my gettign this that started me on the M9 collecting

Interesting. I sold a BCN commemorative M9 without pouch about four months ago to a BCN member whom wanted one. It came from a friend's collection and I wanted to see it remain in the possession of a BCN member. It was priced quite fairly because of this. To my knowledge, this is the only one which has ever hit the "retail" market. The founder of the BCN placed his up on Ebay several years ago, but had no intention of selling it.

BTW, Here is a photo of another unusual marked Lan-Cay M9. These were made for Sabre whom is now out of business. I believe only 200 were produced, in both tan and black, with ergo grips. Can't recall ever seeing one of these turn up on Ebait, either...

Jim Maddox handled the negotiation with LanCay for the BCN 10th Anniversary Commermorative bayonet. I received the shipment from LanCay and processed the orders from the BCN membership, boxed and shipped the bayonets. A special die was made for this run of bayonets and it was supposed to be defaced once the order was filled. The blades were stamped prior to being heat treated, not engraved afterwards. There were 74 bayonets ordered by the membership and LanCay made one for their factory collection. In addition to the BCN marking on the blade, a black pouch was attached to the scabbard. The front of the pouch had BCN embroidered on it in red thread. As was pointed out above, I've only seen one of these on ebay since they were shipped. Too bad it's missing the pouch.

The Sabre M9 looks amazing with the logo on it!

By the way, speaking of rare Lan-Cay's. I just bought a rare Lan-Cay from Howard (Numberonegi) on Ebay. It's the one with the 1995 blade without the sawback and the 2003 scabbard. A very special piece

Regards,
Menno
