Just for the sake of stupidity...338 spectre

what would you have if you have if you necked a .338 spectre down to .308 ? or maybe something smaller say 7mm or 6.5 ? Anyone want to do some quickload work on that ?

Ok, so is that the 308? The case looks longer than I had imagined.
Did you do any work on it ? I assume it was abandoned in favor of the covert?

It is the 7.62 covert. 10mm Mag brass is harder to come by. There is someone making properly head stamped 338 Spectre brass now. If you pull the trigger on the project, please post pics. I love oddball, orphaned, and obsolete cases.

7.62 Covert necked down to 6.5 looks like a Grendel
7.62 Covert necked up to .338 looks pretty good and 7.62 Covert necked up to .375 looks awesome....just got the last two reamers in this week.
I like the one off cartridges too.... non generic taste I guess.

Well fine, I guess I will neck it up and make me a 357 Sig ultra magnum. I have a 10" barrel that I can sacrifice... but its a slow twist, Thats ok though I cant find any long heavy .358 bullets.

Man I just can't catch a break. this is like the third forum I have tried for info on a specific caliber / cartridge and they keep drifting to other peoples favorites unrelated to my question :(

not that a 375 is not a cool idea...

and you think 10mm mag brass is hard to come by ?

I have about 100 rounds of W-W 25-20 for my original '92 and my "shooting" ammo is all in 32-20 brass.
