300 Whisper Feed Problem

Will barrels currently available be drilled to a port size that results in reliable operation of the weapon in semi-auto, full auto? I guess what I am asking is if the apparent mystery of assembling a bunch or purchased parts and having them cycle reliably is over?

With my gas port in the normal position and drilled to .120 it runs fine and feeds fine with 11 grains of AA1682 .

No, Remington subsonic ammo works with both gas port positions.

Thank you! That is the answer I have been looking for. I really do not have time for reloading nowadays so Remington / AAC coming out with this cartridge, for me, is a great thing.

Thanks everyone. Here is a list of what I have done to get things working great.

1 Drilled the barrel gas port to .120
2 Replaced gas block with adjustable gas block.
2 Load 11.8 grains for accurate 1680 Sierra 220 grain match bullets

Results 1042 fps 3.49 deviation on 10 rounds with a 1 inch group at 100 yards. Cycled with out any problems slow or as fast as I could pull the trigger.
