First Deer w/ Wisper

First deer Kill AWESOME
90 Lb anterless deer standing still in a field,,,, had ranged that area to a hay bale, slightly quartering away, hit it in the rib cage Dropped right there.
240 smk about 1040 fps, came out the bottom of the neck. This was at 253 ranged yards! Good old Kentucky windage,, had a 100yd zero.

That is a 5 foot holdover on a 250 yard shot if you were zeroed at 100 yards.

Did you just guess at it and get lucky or had you figured out some of it in advance?

Congrats on the venison!

Flewis,,,I had shot it at 200 yds and the top of the bottom post was the point of impact. That foot hold over of the 200 yds poi put the bullett right into the center of the rib cage.
What I need is 20 or 30 minute of elevation in the bases/rings or the burris signature set up so that I can use all of the elevation on the Turrett know on the Weaver g.s. Tactical 3x 10 scope.
Might be a little luck and 50 plus yrs of pulling the trigger.
