Olympic Arms .300 upper at Midway USA

Anyone have any knowledge of this upper, quality wise is it good for the money, or are there better deals out there? Im not looking for precision rifle, just something to take out and shoot for fun. Will be shooting subsonic loads, short range 150 yards at the most. Also is does anyone have any load data, for this setup( 16 inch barrell, pistol gas length, 1 in 8 twist) Thanks for any info.

I bought one....

...and sent it back before I fired it.

It would not fit my lower - or the two others I tried. The upper was machined wrong and it would bind before the take down pin lined up.

The threads on the barrel are 1/2-28, FYI.

Looking at the muzzle, you could see lots of machining marks in the bore, a la Savage factory barrels.

You may have a different experience with them, but I think they are cheap for a reason.
