Leadscrew

While making a lead screw for a vice, what cutting tools will need to be used, e.g standard knife etc.

Vice leadscrew threads are ACME threads. They are a compromise between the stength of square threads and the ease of machining of standard 60 degree mahine threads. If I remember correctly, the "wall" of the thread is 23 degrees. Look up ACME thread online and make a cutter with thos specs. I'm new to lathes, but I'm sure it can be done.
