Very Confused
Pardon me , but this is my first AK47 build.
I have tried to figure out the part content thing , and every time I do it I get more confused . I am trying to build a Romy that is 110% legal. from a kit.
I know that I have to buy a receiver , a trigger group, a hammer, a gas piston . Possibly a pistol grip . Now what else do I need to get , to be legal with an imported mag.
I have a small milling machine and a small lathe etc . If I make parts , do they count as US content . What if I modify a part ? does it count as made in the USA just like our manufacturers do . They bring in things just about built , and do the final machining operation , or bolt the last piece on ,or assemble components into the finished item , and fly the made in USA label. Harley Davidson is probably just paint and assembly if you take the import parts away and it is touted as true blue and apple pie etc.
