Question Tailstock replacement/refurb

I have a South Bend 16x60 which is in need of tailstock replacement.I located one from Parts Works. The wear on the ways is marginal, its in good shape. what will I need to do for fitment of the new tailstock to my bed? I've heard it will need to be scraped. I'm not to familiar with this process. Also might anyone know if its possible to refurbish these units?and where? thanks.
