I have great luck with 208 grain amax's on whitetails at 1025 fps. I have tried 240 smk, 220 rn, 220 noslers, and nothing works as good in my experience.

What load are you using for the 208's and out of what hardware (barrel length, twist, AR/bolt, ect.)? Thanks!
I shoot the 208 AMAXs. I've shoot them through 3in of dried hickory and recovered them from the dirt. If you could find a way to replace the red tip, they could probably be reloaded.
I've only shot them to about 50 yards so far but at that range I get 1/2" groups. I'm more than happy with that and it is similar to what I was getting with 240SMK's, which are far more expensive.
The other nice thing is that I plan to use 208 A-Max's in the 300 Win Mag Remington 700 I just picked up so I can just buy one bullet for both.
I actually just bought some of the 225 grain Outlaw State expanding bullets for the Whisper but I haven't had much time to tinker with them yet. Most of my tinker time has been with a 7.62x40 rifle I built recently after I got lucky and found one of the barrel/die sets on the EE at arfcom.
