CDN Whisper

I've been wanting to build an AR based Whisper for a long time and finally got this one completed. It functioned nearly flawlessly with both supersonics and subsonics in initial testing which was nice. Just gotta do some more detailed load development for it now.

Barrel is 9.5" long with a JP adj gas block and a pistol length gas system.

The large diameter muzzle device is one I designed and my buddy built. It kills flash dead and really helps to drive noise and blast downrange.

Nice rifle, and I really like the muzzle device. Ever think of selling them?

Thanks.

Yes, we made 20 for the first run and have been selling them through the shop we work in. Interest has been spotty cause apparently if it isn't made by some big name US company then it can't be any good. It is one of those things about being Canadian, we have a serious inferiority complex and think nothing we make can be any good.

They were kinda expensive to make so we didn't want to invest a huge amount into something we didn't know would sell. I'd love to sell them in the US but am not exactly sure about the legalities of doing that as it is a firearm part after all.

For some reason the guys interested in the Whisper AR have really taken a liking to the SPEX brake as we call it.

The only difficulty you could possibly run into would be if there was a reduction beyond 2db ( I think) in the sound signature of the rifle it was screwed on to.

You might think about how much the logo effects indexing the device on the barrel ... and apply the KISS principle.

Finally got my personal rifle together. This is a 10.5", 1:8 heavy pofile barrel. The adjustable gas block is custom made to fit under the rail. Gas system is pistol length.

Do you have any other pictures that show how it works?

The gas block?

It has a adjustable cross screw like the JP gas block. It was just the easiest way to do it. I am sure there are better ways but they are more complex and bulky and there is precious little room under the rail that I chose.
