.300 Whisper and pistol cans

I remember reading some time ago that centerfire pistol cans could handle .300 Whisper (subsonic loads only). Is there anything to this?

Been using a Bowers CAC-9 on mine recently. No problems to report.

Some 9mm pistol cans work but they are not as quiet as a 30 cal can.

I have the YHM 9mm Wraith XL and the YHM 762 Phantam and can not tell any difference, when we have another Silencer shoot here in East Texas I will Test them. The 9mm can is much lighter to carry around in the woods. Shooting for fun or hunting, no difference, but on paper with a Tester the 30 cal should be quieter. The 762 can is rated for super-sonic and the 9mm is rated for pistol and sub-sonic. Both of these are rated for Full Auto. Each person has to figure out what best suits their needs. I am lucky to have both. I use the 9mm Wraith XL on the 300W, 10 1/2" barrel with subs and the 762 Phantam on the 762x39, 16" for super-sonics and subs.

Yeah, I figured a compromise would be the case but it's kinda of a "which can first" thing with me. Next is the 9mm, then my .22 can rework by Liberty, then a Bravo from Elite Iron, then.....................

It seemed to my ears that the 9mm can was a little louder, but still effective.

But the weight is what does it for me, the aluminum 9mm can is so much nicer than a steel anchor hanging off the muzzle!

My 7.62 suppressor will weigh less than that! I ordered it in July and it's supposedly done, they are just waiting on some paperwork, then I play the ATF waiting game.

I have an AWC .30 cal Thundertrap (26oz) and a SWR Trident 9 (9oz). I can run either on my Whisper. I run the 9mm can due to weight. They between my 2 I can not tell a difference.
