Picked up this M7 for $10 today

I went to the gun show today and this followed me home for $10

This is my first m7 and would love to know who made it who carried it

On the scabbard it says " U.S. M8A1 Made in W-Germany"
There are no markings on the knife itself

Thanks for the help and I think bayonet collecting might be a great addition to gun collecting.

I personally think the gun collecting is a great addition to bayonet collecting!

The scabbard on your bayonet is obviously made in West Germany and is the type used on the Eickhorn manufactured M7 bayonets. Are you sure there aren't any markings on the bayonet, like maybe on the front of the crossguard?

I have looked over it several times. Not a single mark.

Several years ago I had bought the same type of bayonet without marking and the professional salesman had said to me that this model came from China. Only for the bayonet and not the scabbard. Probably from germany.

Check where the bayonet mounts to the rifle , the rear section...I have one that is from Israel... It has IMI there....Otherwise there are no markings.

The IMI bayonets were manufactured by Eickhorn in Germany.

Well, I took the knife apart and looked under the grip and found nothing and checked the back of the bayonete attachment and still nothing. I guess I will never know the maker of the blade.
