Craftsman Quick Change Retrofit??

I have Craftsman 12x24 Lathe but it does not have the quick change gearbox.
Occasionally I see the Quick Change gearboxes for sale. I was wondering if this would be a bolt on conversion? Does the same leadscrew work? Has anyone ever done this conversion?
It sure would be nice since my lathe is essentially solid and has perfect bearings, it just takes so much time to change the thread pitch.
I believe my model number is 101.07403-2075 or 101.27430-2743
No data plate on it.

Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks
Joe
