Ontario M-9 for Mossberg 590
I am interested in the Ontario M-9 for my Mossberg 590, but would like to make sure it will fit. I've seen some blogs where they say it will. Ontario says to contact Mossberg, but have not heard back from Mossberg yet. Anyone able to shed some light on this? Thanks, Rob (new member)

I believe that any M7 or M9 bayonet will fit, except maybe some of the Chinese M9 copies. Some of them have smaller diameter muzzle rings.

A several years back I decided to get rid of a Winchester M97 I had. The 30 inch barrel had been tastefully cut down to the "riot model" length, and my intention was to get a repro trench shield/bayonet lug attachment for it. However, I heard about the Mossberg M590A1, and found one at a local shop. I had been told these were overruns made for the government, having the thicker mil-spec barrel, metal trigger guard, and most importantly, a bayonet lug! In any event, I have tried several bayonets on it. The OKC 3s seems to fit, but is tight in fitting/locking the last 1/4 inch. Ran into the same problem with a Phrobis 3-line M9. A US M7 snaps on without a hitch, and so have three Lan-Cay M9s. I suspect the bayonet lug bay be @ maximum spec which has resulted in the interference experienced when attaching some bayonets...

M9 Maintenance
Ontario didn't send any tips for cleaning, sharpening, etc. Anyone have any suggestions, other than the usual common sense? (still got some of that, thankfully!)

I would suggest to read the technical manual
http://www.m9bayonet.com/library/TM9-1005-237-23P.pdf
where you'll be probably able to find answers and much more!
I personally use some gun oil to clean the bayonet.
As for sharpening, take a look here
