Trim lenght: SSK calls for 1.355, most others (AR15barrel.com, Olympic Arms, Model 1, double star, T/C custon shop, Bull berry) call for 1.390 I have found the longer neck give more support to those heavyer bullets and better preformance, i have fired my brass in all the above named companies barrels and i have found that 1.39 trim lenght works best, but with SSK you do need 1.35, if your not sure check with a local gunsmith and have him do a cast of your camber.
Neck thickness: I did at one time use military once fired brass but i did have some neck thickness troubles, i use only commerical once fired brass as to date i have yet to have any problems with any of the above name makers of uppers and barrels using commercal brass.
