Once I have that, I'll start jumping thru the Federal hoops to get a can permit and the hardware... My local guy has a whole box of them!
Even then, I can't actually put the can on my barrel here in WA :-(
You can put it on your gun but you cant shoot with it.

Washington State had a real fear of poaching.
RCW 9.41.250 Section 1.(c).

As per RCW 9A.20.021 Section 2, the punishment for Gross Misdemeanor is as follows: "Every person convicted of a gross misdemeanor defined in Title 9A RCW shall be punished by imprisonment in the county jail for a maximum term fixed by the court of not more than one year, or by a fine in an amount fixed by the court of not more than five thousand dollars, or by both such imprisonment and fine."

When I still lived in Oregon we hadn't been taken over by the liberal Evil Kalifornians who moved up to Portland and Eugene, but we would have shoots up in Albany and Huskies would come down and collect their NFA toys to shoot in the match then they would lock them back up at the dealers in Oregon and drive away to Washington - strange state up there.

In WA many LE Agencies use cans and break the rules.
There has not yet been 1 person convicted of using a legal can
and i dont think most LEO would push the issue because they
use them too.
I would'nt push the issue and go to the public range to use a can
or you could be the first to be in a court room and on the news.

Yup, having a monopoly on violence has it's perks....

Anyway, I am in the middle of setting up a Citizen A-20 lathe to run off some adapters, should be done in a day or two.

WOW, I'm impressed.

I got the thread adaptor today.

It threads on very easy and has a spot at the back for a wrench to add some torque. I will blue it and then add some of the light lock tight so I can remove it if needed and crank it down later. Or I may use the lock washer haven't decided yet.

Then wait for my can, which I was already doing prior to all of this but now it will FIT. Ye Ha.

Glad you are satisfied with my work, I did make extra because I know I'm not the only one with this barrel.........price is two ounces of silver, PM for details.

Also, if anyone has any other component that would be helpful and is not available - let me know! If it is something our machines can physically make - I'll give it a shot!

Oh and by the way, I am going to make a few different versions with varying lengths of 5/8 threads. That way if someone runs across a device that is sensative to thread length, I'll have one that fits. Jim, if the one I sent you is to long for your application - we can just swap it out. Also going to make some with 1/2-28 threads, so you can use your .308 can with 5.56 or .22 or whatever - may not be as effiecient, but it will make that tax stamp more valuable if you can use the can on other guns....

Hmmm......maybe I should make one for the 14mm left-hand thread for all my fellow AK/PSL fans.....

I think most cans in 30 caliber are threaded for a length of 0.625" in 5/8-24.

I don't have a finalized design yet (darn close though) for a can to go on my PPK/S. I'll be putting in a PP barrel because the clearance between the barrel and slide is so small and I don't trust a steel sleeve that thin. The barrel is only 0.480" diameter. So the 1/2-28 is out.

I need to practice threading anyway and I don't think I have two ounces worth of silver in my brazing rods.
