Wasp Waist Bullet

Need some help figuring out what kind of bullet I found in my backstop today. It was a 180 gr. semi BT with what was left of a green ballistic tip with a wasp waist. 30 cal. I have had quite a few people over to shoot, but none can remember shooting anything like that. But none of them reload. It is not a Herters, different shape on the back end. Will post some pictures as soon as I figure out how( ie...get the kids to help me...) Same length as a 180 BT...rifeling only engraves about .25 in the center, and doesn't look like it engraves any at the BT. Penetrated about 6" of hard rock maple and barely upset the nose at all...There is a remote possibility it was a HP that picked up some nose material from some BT's I had shot before. Backstop is about 2 yrs old. A little over 2,000 rounds in it - .17 on up....Have not looked upon this type of bullet in 25 yrs. Any help would be appreciated.
