did Phrobis ever made...guns????

Apologize in advance to post this message under the "knife" category but..look at this auction
http://cgi.ebay.com/Beretta-92-M9-PH...QQcmdZViewItem
It is a toy. A gun replica.
I thought that Phrobis did only produce bayonets, not guns.
But in the auction's description is written "As developed for the U.S. Navy, this beautiful model replica is a detailed copy of the Pietro Beretta M9 "Dolphin" developed by PHROBIS for the U.S Navy"
Just would like to know: is there a REAL Beretta gun produced/modified by Phrobis?
Sorry for the question but I don't know much about guns, apart from the fact that the Beretta is an italian gunmaker.

When the first Model 92 pistols were tried out by the Navy Seals they were having a problem with the slides flying off the frame. Mickey Finn, designer and developer of the M9 bayonet and designer of the Buckmaster knife, developed a beefed up slide for the Beretta 92. The side of the slide is marked U.S.N. and has the Phrobis dolphin logo. They didn't make too many of these before Beretta modified their slide to correct the problem. Airsoft makes a reproduction of this pistol. There are also fake copies of the slide out there for unsuspecting buyers.
