Little Crow Gunworks Trimmer

Does anyone have any experience with one of these? I'm wondering if one could be made to work to trim 300 wtf cases that have been run through a Redding form/trim die.

I emailed the company to ask them too. I'd think this would be a big seller for them if it would work.

Hi,
I bought one recently to trim down my 6.5creedmoor brass made from 308 brass.
It works like a charm spending only 4 seconds per cases.
i suggested in an email to them to make one for the 300 whisper but i have not heard from them.
I guess that if we keep putting pressure on them, they will turn some out.

I traded emails with the folks at Little Crow Gunworks this morning. The advice they gave is that you use their .223 case trimmer in a multi-step process to cut .300 wtf cases.

1. Set the stop on the cutter to cut most of the shoulder off of a .223 case
2. Form the cut down case to .300 wtf dimensions, in my case using a Redding form/trim die
3. Set the stop on the cutter to trim to final length for .300 wtf.

I ordered one of their .223 trimmers this morning. I have a similar Possum Hollow trimmer for .223 that I'm hoping to use for one of the steps to be able to keep the other one set for final length .300 trimming.

Will let you know how it goes...

If anyone has any experience with this, please chime in!

Hi,
I am not sure but after using their trimmer, I think you may have some surprises and may not be able to do it the way you just described it... We shall see.
keep us posted.

Similar in design to the Possum Hollow unit.

The possum hollow unit and others like it have no good way of clearing the chips. And there are a lot of chips.

It works great for trimming cases. Cutting them down is another matter entirely.

Well,
I can tell you that the chips on the Littlecrow trimmer are "ejected" pretty quickly through the two ports in the body.
But you are right, if it was me I would cut the excess brass with a dremel wheel and finish in the little crow trimmer.
