Bayonet Parts.

I'm interested in whether it is possible to buy M-9 parts such as the latch plates etc..

I have been all over google looking around for anybody who sells this type of thing and I haven't found much.

Are the patents for this still active to prevent them from being used by guys like me to make custom stuff?

I'm not positive, but I believe the original patent for the M9 has expired. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable about the subject will chime in.

Parts show up on ebay from time to time, but the latch plates seem to be in the highest demand. Try contacting forum member SignalSoldier, he may be able to help you.

Welcome to the forum. Please keep us updated on your custom project. We'd love to see photos.

Initially I just need one or two of these (latch plates) and a hand-guard which I will use as a template since my non-bayonet design will require a much larger (and round) hole where the knife tang would go.

THanks for the help.

Once I get further along and can talk about it I will be sure to share pics of my idea so you guys can use and abuse it and tell me what I need to do better.
