I have acquired an Atlas lathe in excelent condition and would like to find out the year and model of it. It has a 30" bed and will swing a 10" circle but doesn't have a gearbox,
just a stack of extra replaceable gears on the LH side. Does anyone know how to identify it? Thanks, Ed Farrell

New lathe

I also have just bought but as of yet do not have in my possesion an Atlas TV 42 lathe. I have been to the Atlas-Press site but can't find any pictures of my specific lathe. Lots of info on 10 inch Atlas , am I missing something as far as being able to date this lathe? It says that one possible way is the headstock bearing may have date or approximate date stamped on them? Will I be able to find manuals on my specific lathe or will it just be a general 10" Atlas manual? I pick it up Saturday, can't wait. Is the quick change screwcutting gear box still avalible maybe on E-bay or through someone else? I will have tons more questions once I get the lathe home. Thanks
