Happy day bought a 300 Blackout Barrel

While checking my WTB for a 7X57 Mauser barrel for my Encore on another forum, I saw a listing for a MGM Contender 16.5 inch barrel in 300 Blackout in 1 in 8 twist, plus it's already threaded for a can.

I promptly ditched the mauser search and bought the barrel. I won't be able to shoot it until I return to the states in Oct. I currently have an SSK encore rifle barrel and a Thompson Custom Shop rifle barrel in 300 Whisper. Both are stainless and probably will get sold when I return.

Any suggestions on a Can is much appreciated!

I'm a big fan of Thunderbeast's 30P-1. It is a titanium can, very well made, quieter than a few others I've tried, and - on the few guns it has mounted to - shows very little if any change in impact at reasonable subsonic 300WTF ranges.

I also have a Yankee Hills Phantom in SS, it is heavy as balls and the baffle design has given me some fits in some subsonic rifles, but in super it has worked quite well for me.

In terms of QD vs. thread-on, I am a huge thread-on fan. Of all the QD mounts I've used, YHM is among the best, as it a more course threading of the can onto the QD adapter. Avoid Gemtech's QD. Surefire's is a good QD setup, but you'll pay a hefty price to get one.

Everyone will have an opinion, wade through them with caution. I advise you find a class 3 dealer near you and talk with them about what they carry and why.

(Sandstorm is also quite nice, just got one, light weight, seems a bit louder than the Thunderbeast, and took hella long time to get.)

I have been reading everything

My dealer is a suppressor freak and has several different make .308 cans. When I emailed him, he told me to bring my barrel and bullets and we will shoot in his backyard. He reps multiple brands and we are going to try them all both super and sub. Thanks for responding.

I'll second the motion for ThunderBeast... I've got an original 30P and am very pleased with it.
