1991 USMC Contract Buck M9 Bayonet MINT Knife

This is an extraordinary 1991 USMC Contract Buck M9 bayonet that is being sold by unnaturalone of these forums. I wish to thank Mark for the use of his images!

Here is a link to the auction

Here is the description:

Quote:This is 1 of 5,000 made USMC M9 Bayonets from Buck Knives.

Marked " M9-USMC Buck + USA " in three lines on one side of the ricasso and blank on the other side.

This is a rare example of this fine knife as it is in MINT nearly unused condition. Issued to a USMC Unit, the scabbard has a "G96" lightly stenciled in black paint on the scabbard. This could easily be removed with Acetone (nail polish remover) but personally I would leave it as it adds to the history of the knife.

The wirecutter edge has a tiny dent where someone tried to use it it was too small to show up on the pics but I wanted to add it here for accuracy.

The knife overall is unused, factory edge, barely a mark on the blade from the scabbard, all buttons with the exception of the backstrap snap have 100% of the black finish. The backstrap snap has minor scratches. The sharpening stone is unused and the scabbard has no Buck or Phrobis marks which is correct for this knife. The guard also has no Phrobis dolphin which is correct for this knife. Enjoy the pics this is a once in a lifetime knife, out of 5,000 I would guess that maybe 1% will ever be found in this condition. 7 inch Blade (18 centimeters)
