safety concerns??

I am using 9gr of VV N110 w/220gr pro-hunter and they work fine. I want to start playing around with diffrent powders and lighter(cheaper) bullets but I don't really know where to start. I loaded 5 180gr Speer with 8gr of VV N110 but I have not shot them yet. Do I have to worry bout over pressure with sub loads? I wouldn't think so but it dosen't hurt to ask. I know if I go too light I cuold get a squib but my bbl is only 7in long so I wouldn't think that to be too big an issue. I duno, maybe I'm just being over cautious. What yall think?

Every new load I use is with a freshly cleaned barrel. First shot is usually slower and lower pressure. yes, like to be over cautious.. Even after going over the list and checking it twice, there is still a chance for human error. No 2 barrels are the same! I use 8.5 of 296 with a 180 Speer btsp backwards for 1050 fps out of a TC 16.5 barrel. Have found that it takes more powder when shooting backwards to get the same speed as forward. Hope this helps...

If you're worried start with 9 gr of VV N110 and the 180s. Shoot them over a chronograph while reducing the charge a few 10ths each shot. When you hit 1050 stop.
