300 blackout

So, what's the deal with this new cartridge? Why or is it any better than a 300 whisper 300/221 fireball?? Is it still made from .223 brass?

thanks,
swampf0x

About the same but was submitted to SAAMI as a standard. The velocity is a bit higher due to longer freebore - like 5.56mm compared to 223.

I imagine if JDJ had ben a little more flexible, instead of demanding royalties, could have submitted the whisper for SAAMI and there would not have been a need for the 300blk or all of the other 300whatever names

My gunsmith called him to get a reamer. No WAy Hosea,,, $700 for him to chamber5 and install a standard douglas bbl on my action.
Nope/ went 300/221 bought a reamer and the gauges,,, He could have rented one out and made 50 bucks from most everyone on here.

You're EXACTLY RIGHT! Now look at all the publicity his round WONT get all because of pride and arrogance.(IMO) Its a shame , because the AR world wouldve propeled the whisper to greater levels of popularity and he wouldve gained much more business to boot.

So, which one would be more accurate/reliable from an AR action? Can the brass be made from .223 hulls?

Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face

on a different tact... looking at the different throat between the 300blk& the 300whatever it looks like the pressure issue because of it would be most noticeable with the longer heavier bullets such as the 220& 240, there would by default have much more clearance with a 125 or other smaller bullet correct?
