Basically the same load I came up with via quickload. I am using my mono-metallic 60 grain .224 bullets I make on the CNC lathe though. Same powder, but for me the best load was 2.5 grains of the same powder.

Here is a link to my YT video of this ammo through my 16" AR57 and Gemtech OB2:

Outstanding have you used it on game I was thinking that at subsonic velocity the 60 gr Vmax would have more standard expansion. but have not used it on anything but ground squirrel so far. I owe you the credit for the load data I think It got it from one of your previous threads!

Glad I could help!

No, I havn't shot anything but paper/steel.....Sooner or later I am going to design a more appropriate bullet shape for the subsonic loads though. We are swamped at the shop and all the lathes are busy on "real" jobs right now.

Sorry - zero expansion at subsonic speeds. This was shot into a row of water-filled milk jugs. I think it went through two and stopped in the 3rd (or maybe it was the 4th. It's been a while).

Even so, I've been following some of the subsonic 5.7 threads. It seems this would be the answer to all of those guys who want a subsonic 5.56 that still cycles the action. A 65 or 70 gr. bullet would be excellent, even if it doesn't expand.

That's pretty much my view on the whole project.
