The Buck 184

Way back in the late 80's when I was a real youngin'.. My neighbor was a diver and he had one of these. If I recall it was a post 87' blade with Buckmaster in the relief cut. I thought it was the coolest knife ever and always wanted one. About 5 years ago I got into the M9 bayonets, One of my favorite blades. I've been looking at the 184's for the past couple weeks and I finally got one. A pretty early one at that.. So I want to ask, from 84' to 87' before the blades had the pat# and Buckmaster in the groove, What ones are the most desirable and have the highest collector value? I want to use my knife but not sure if I should christen it or leave it as new. Thanks !
