interesting results of todays test firing....

in the remington 799 suppressed rifles....
I thought I was getting a first round pop with the suppressors in all 4 of the 799's I just finished but it turns out its something else. I've been pretty good at cleaning the barrels after shooting to keep the condensation from the suppressor from corroding my barrel. After cleaning I've run an oiled patch through the bore. The first round fired goes supersonic because of the oiled bore which tells me that my load is about as hot as I can get it without going over... We tested the theory a few times by running a couple cleaning patches through the bore than an oily one. Every time we did that the crack was evident and reflected off the target 100yds away too . I never thought that small amount of oil would make that much difference...
The first rifle had some scattered results which I think are ammo related. The second rifle shot some very good groups considering my crappy shooting and the wind. Best one was under 1" and the rest were right at the 1" mark. They seemed to be getting better as we shot more so maybe break in is important with the Pac Nor barrels. Load was 9.3gr of VV N110 with 220gr SMK's. Didn't have the chrono out today so I don't have velocity data, sorry.
