and bullets of 150-240gr. I saw the data posted for supersonic use but I want to keep things slower right now. . .

Thanks

Win 296 is reported to be the exact same powder as H110. Both Win and Hod get it from the same supplier and just put it in their own respective cans. Loads for H110 should work fine using 296.

With that said, I've used 10.5 gr. H110 with a Sierra 220 gr. RNSP seated to 2.235" for 1189 fps. Try backing down a bit to stay subsonic.

Thanks for the info on that....I can see a slight difference in the powders but not much. I realized a bit too late that the powder I really meant to ask about was H4198. I was talking with a friend who does a lot of loading about powders and we were talking about the W296 but what he handed me to try is the H4198. He suggested it for the heavier bullets and said it is used in a lot of stuff like .44 mag and other pistols shooting heavy bullets. He thought it might be good for the 180gr + stuff partly because its bulkier than the H110 or W296. .... any thoughts on that???
I see that the H110 loads in the 7-10gr range are about half case loads. Probably not a big deal with 220gr projos that fill a good portion of the case but I'm guessing that with the 150gr and lighter crowd there is a lot of room for powder to wander and create inconsistancy.

Thanks again.

Frank
