Hello all. I am new to the forums. I was thinking about making a brl from the PacNor 1in8 Poly. Any pros or cons to using this brl. Thanks in advance for your input Ron

poly barrel

I have heard only good things about poly barrels. Go for it!

What barrel length are you thinking about going with?

I was thinking 10-12". Any sugestions on what length would be best for reliability? I will be running this in an AR15 platform. This would also leave enough blank for a 15-16" brl for supersonic use. Thanks, Ron

I have had so many problems with PacNor barrels I would suggest Lothar Walther.

The last episode with Pacnor was over hardness. I rc the barrel and it was rc23 far below what 13 of the other barrel makers I called heat treated their barrels to.

When confronted they told me my RC hardness tester was bad, yes A government owned rc tester which is required to be inspected and tested for accuracy was "bad".

They didnt want to eat 400 bucks but long story short to many folks I've known have ended up having more problems with Pacnors than any other barrel maker.

Well I have my polly! We will see how it performs. Any sugestions on threading for supressor? Is there a standard? I was going to set up for 5/8x24. No supressor yet but down the road? Thanks, Ron
