240 gr SMK data

I normally shoot 220gr SMK's subsonic pushed by 9.9 grains of AA#9

I got a good deal on a 500 round box of 240 grain SMK's. It wasn't a killer deal, but pretty good. (139.00 for the 500)

Now I am looking for a nice load to keep them subsonic - I'd like to also use the AA#9 (that I already have an 8 pound keg of) I am considering 9.5 grains, but I wanted to kind out if anyone had a load they liked.

The accurate webpage does not list any loads for the 240 Sierra MK. They do list loads of 220 gr.

http://www.accuratepowder.com/data/P...0page%2076.pdf

The Sierra reloading manual list the following starting loads:

AA#9
9.2g 950fps
9.5g 1000fps
9.9g 1050fps
10.2g 1100fps
10.6g 1150fps
11.0g 1200fps MAX

2400
9.4g 950fps
9.8g 1000fps
10.2zg 1050fps
10.6g 1100fps
11.0g 1150fps
11.3g 1200fps MAX

There are other powders listed as well. Let me know if you are interested

Not sure if this helps as the guy didn't post velocities, found it on snipershide.com...

"Started with 8 grains.. found that I can shoot 240's into a nickel at 100 with either 8.7/8/9 grains. Sierra SMK loaded to 2.245.
My rifle based in a Savage 12 action in a BVSS stock really likes this load. It also shoots well through the contender. Interesting point is that this load shoots to the same POI as my 200 Speer loaded with 9.2 grns of H110.
I was getting some verticle issues with the H110 and have not had issues with AA#9. I will preface this by adding that I have not taken this load beyond 100 on paper".

Any idea what barrel length it would take to get a 240 to 1050 with AA#9? I've got a 10" and can't find any AA9 around here to try.

For those of you that have tried it, did you get a large SD or vertical stringing?
