RLL Paddel Thickness?

If I use a feeler gauge to determine the gap between the rear of the carrier and the rear lug, how much do I need to add to that for proper function of the RLL?

For example, I measured a gap of .028 between my carrier and rear lug. It seems to me that I can't have a .028 paddle made as that won't allow the fulcrum operation. I am correct or am I missing something?

Thanks

I tested it out and if you measure .028 with feeler gages, then a .028 paddle will trip the carrier properly.
