Rotary Knife attachment

Hi everyone new here but lots of information-

At work they want to make a rotary knife attachment for a machinist lathe for turning wood. First any thoughts on the above- think Mattison lathe and I know they a dangerous that is why I am here trying to learn and convince them on how to keep it as safe as possible. Second does anyone know of information on converting a tool post grinder it one of these, they want to create the same sort of thing with a wood base just for trials and I feel that the cutter portion will relocate itself- concern is that it will relocate to someone body part! Help please
